Mouvedre 2015

Tasting Notes
This Mourvedre is typical of its variety, with spice and white pepper very prominent. In the glass, our Mourvedre is purple and has a nose packed with spice. On the palate, this Mourvedre has lots of spice sitting on top of dense slightly wild fruit. Prominent acids leave the palate clean and refreshed with a long peppery finish.

Thanks to excellent growing conditions, 2015 was a very successful vintage and provided us with undamaged, perfectly ripe grapes. All of our grapes are hand-picked and sorted. The de-stemmed and crushed grapes were left on the skins for between 8 and 10 days in large bins to ferment naturally. Following this, the must was pressed at about 10 to 15 Balling, and fermentation was completed in tank. Malolactic fermentation occurred naturally. The wine was then put into 3rd fill (or older) French oak barrels with minimal sulphur until bottling in February 2016.
